Remember that little chat we had a few weeks ago? The one where I decided that I was going to cut back on using farmhouse decor in this new-to-us house since it doesn’t really make sense in a very classic, traditional colonial?
I’ve been in a weird place with figuring out what’s “my style” when it comes to a non-farmhouse vibe.
And I don’t know, maybe I’m not the only one who craves a little more classic, a little more timeless so that however we decorate our house won’t be immediately out of trend 2 years down the road.
So I’ve been zooming around on Pinterest and quietly stalking a slew of Instagram feeds to do a little soul searching. In the process, I’ve found 10 designers’ Instagram feeds full of inspirations that made me instantly go, “YES!”
They’re all classic with a modern twist but still just slightly farmhouse, each in their own unique way. I’m so excited to dive into all of these feeds’ inspirations to figure out ways to make it budget-friendly and DIY-able in our own house soon.

I’m not a trained designer by any means, so I’m just figuring all of this out as we go along. Do you ever go through these identity crises sometimes in your home? If you ever have a hard time figuring out your style, you’re not alone. But looking through all of my pins/IG saves really does help me see what they all have in common and narrow down what that “it” factor is to hopefully translate into our own house.
Since we have, ya know… something like 10 rooms to go.
