14 Dining Chairs for a Small Budget

Ever since sharing our dining room progress earlier this week, I’ve had dining chairs on my radar. And with the breakfast nook attached to the living room also getting painted, we’ve had two dining spaces basically furniture-less.

For the dining room, I’ve been hovering around the idea of light weathered oak furniture to contrast with the dark charcoal walls.

The breakfast nook is still in mid-reno mode. That laundry room bi-fold door is getting replaced with a black French door, and the semi-flush mount is getting swapped for a lantern pendant. With all of that black and white going on though, some texture needs to happen in here to warm it up.

And, of course, with Olivia running around, sloshing bowls of Cheerios in the mornings and playing bakery with cans upon cans of Play-doh, I know I need chairs, at least in the breakfast nook, that can withstand bang ups and messes.

So in my hunt, I found 14 gorgeous dining chairs that would be perfect for an industrial / farmhouse/ French vibe for under $130; many of them are less than $70 each.

Do you have any favorites of the bunch? So far, the gray and white French bistro chair is the #1 pick for the breakfast nook (I bought some similar ones I’ll be sharing soon), but I’m still pondering the dining room.

  1. I like the Charlie chair or the Wallace, I have had chairs with out padding on the seats and they were ok, but padding on the seats make them more comfy.

  2. I live in Rock Hill, SC and I would like to ask where do you find such great pieces of furniture to make over.I have been looking at the beautiful pieces your hve done, I love them.

  3. I like really comfortable chairs in a dining room so people will stay and chat after the meal. I’d take the Malia (love the texture) or the more classic Charlie. Both look comfortable and would provide some nice contrast to the grey walls.
