I wanna know where my “tabbie” people are. You know… the ones whose brains are basically like an internet browser with a million tabs open all at the same time?
Yeah, we’d be soul sisters. Because I’m betting I’m not alone. If my brain were a laptop, that little annoying “rainbow wheel” would be constantly spinning trying to keep up.
So I thought it would be fun to start sharing a brain dump of sorts of all of the things I’m inspired by, quotes I love, other bloggers I discover, recipes I crave, parenting hacks I find, fashion items I adore, beauty things I stumble upon… literally anything under the sun that live in one of my little “tabbies”.
I’m dubbing it “Bless’er Heart Weekends”. Because get it? Bless her heart? Everyone hearts weekends, am I right? Okay, you get it.
Could be fun. Could be totally random. But if you’ve been following this little ol’ blog for a while, you’re probably already used to that.
A few fun finds this week…
- This kitchen inspo stopped me mid-scroll and now makes me want to replace all 3 of our kitchen barstools with gray velvet ones. And apparently they scrub up well against kid messes!

- This coat closet makeover I pinned the other day has me wanting to try it for myself.
- I’m in the middle of reading Where the Crawdads Sing and cannot put it down!!! Have you read it?! Soooo good!
- How is it possible that this picture was taken over a year ago?! Feels like just yesterday and yet so much has changed since then.
- This breakfast nook… I had to pick my jaw off the floor.
- Olivia and Regan’s birthday backyard pool party is tomorrow! With a mermaid theme of course (and by that I mean, “There’s a pool. Here are some mermaid balloons. Poof: mermaid theme. The end.”) How do we already have a 7 and 1 year-old?! Time slow down!
- We bought Regan this foam activity play set since our little monkey loves to climb everything now, and Olivia is getting her first novel set of American Girl books (the Kirsten ones). Ahhh the nostalgia!
- This quote… AMEN!!!
- This dress arrived from Walmart last week and I’m IN LOVE!!!
- Also, this blouse in green is my new favorite in my closet to wear basically anywhere with skinny jeans and ankle boots. It’s so breathable and perfect as fall-wear in the South.
- Now that fall has arrived, I’m craving my favorite chicken enchilada soup something FIERCE! It’s one of our go-tos. Buuuut it still feels like summer outside so… #SouthernerProblems
- I just found the PERFECT chandelier to finally replace the old falling apart one in our dining room from the house’s previous owners. So a dining room refresh might be in our immediate future just in time for the holidays. Whoop!
- And I finally had some photos printed to update our family gallery wall now that Regan is uh… a year old. Oops. Better late than never. Also, I’ve been thinking of painting this foyer chest. What do you think?
So that’s all the “haps” lately! Are you getting into anything fun this weekend?
I’m off to go decorate Walmart cupcakes with edible glitter and mermaid toppers. Betcha 5 bucks I’ll still be finding glitter in every nook and cranny of this house next week. 😉
A “this and that” blog idea is great! I am also a tabbie and I fall down numerous rabbit holes daily! ha.
Love the chandelier you already have up, so don’t change it! lol. Also, no, no, no on painting that foyer beauty! (gee…maybe I should tell you how I really feel?!) Happy birthday to your beautiful babies and may the mermaid girls be happy!
I am so a tabbie girl. As of right now, I have 10 tabs open. Love the new post idea.
Funny, random musings. I, too have a lot of tabbies open all the time, some written down, some not. This is a great blog idea. Foyer cabinet? My thought is, make yourself happy because no one will want your stuff anyway.
Blessings to you and your family.
NO please don’t paint your foyer chest!!!
AGREED! I love love love the way it is now! But it is your house after all 🙂
Since you asked for votes – I also vote no! I am not opposed to painting furniture. But this chest and display area was the reason I started following your blog. It is so beautiful!
NO, don’t paint that beautiful chest!!!
p.s. I love this new blog post idea! Keep them coming please!!
I read the book over summer break!!! LOVED it!! I heard it was going to be made into a movie!!!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Please do not paint the beautiful chest!! Enjoy your babies this birthday weekend!!!
I like this post today, the only thing I would say is next time please put in images of what your talking about so we dont have to click through every link. PS I love your blog!
How fun is this!! Love that dress – gorgeous! No do not paint the chest – it’s beautiful as is! No I cannot believe your little one is a year old – didn’t you just have him?!!
Thanks for sharing!
Hola Lauren….nix the painting of that lovely chest of drawers, that is something that should stay in the family and handed down to your eldest daughter! (better start looking for something for Reagan); I really like your chandelier; that breakfast nook looks like a bachelor house….stripped down and no personality (hmm); liked the stools, they look trim yet comfortable; I like to look at closet makeovers but I don’t think they are very realistic…I think there should be a cause of the “stuff” and where does it all go?? Really like the dress, would make a very good “date” night outfit! (hubba hubba). Happy pool party!
I wouldn’t paint the foyer chest. I’d get a cheap chest the same size and paint that if you are wanting a change. The chest is beautiful as is.
I read Where the Crawdads Sing and luckily we were camping that week because I was also unable to put it down. Then my husband read it (which is quite rare) and he loved it too. How this could possibly have been the author’s first fiction novel is unbelievable. As for the chest in the entry, I would paint with the new true black Annie Sloan chalk paint. It would blend better with your railings and not compete with the wood floors. Love your blogs!!
Oh no don’t paint the chest, it speaks of elegance, ages, true value … a beautiful introduction to a home. ann
I look forward to these posts as I love your style and savvy shopping ability! P. S. Please don’t paint the foyer chest! It’s the focal point of the room.
I’m so excited you’re going to do this ‘Friday thing’- love it! And yes, paint the dresser!!
No! Don’t paint the chest. If you find it too dark (maybe that’s the issue?) then a little pickled stain might make the difference for you but that wood has so much character already
I. LOVE. THIS. Great idea and thanks for sharing all these tidbits!!! <3
I love anything painted. Yes yes.
Hi Lauren!
I love your idea for Fridays! I am a tabbie person on the computer and in my head! I love the chandelier you have picked out much better than the one that came with the house. You and I have very similar taste! I also love the clothes you got – although you forgot to tell us which color you ordered for the dress! And please don’t paint the chest in the entryway! I paint furniture myself – but only if the wood is in really poor condition and painting is the only way. The chest is a nice antique and adds character to your entryway.
By the way, your girls are both just adorable! What a nice family!
Thumbs up: WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING Thumbs down: Painting that beautiful chest.
The this and that wrap-up is a fun way to end the week. Where did another year go???????
Love the Bless’er Heart Friday today! Really enjoyed “Where the Crawdads Sing”!
I love the chandler that is there now! If you are going to get rid of it let me know! I’ll run right up to get it. Love your Blog! Happy Birthday girls.
Love this Friday thing! Just my style. I don’t clicking on the links. Also my first reaction was to not paint the chest. But what I am thinking! I LOVE painted furniture!!!!! So, go ahead and paint away! I bet it will be beautiful and I cannot wait to see it!!! Have a Blessed weekend!
Correction on my post above. My sentence was to read “I don’t mind clicking on the links”.
“Where the Crawdads Sing” is the BEST book I’ve read this year. Enjoy and savor it! I got too wrapped up, couldn’t put it down, and then it was done!
Bless’ur heart for this share. I love the dining inspiration in its totality as well as your idea to paint for the foyer chest.
This new post idea is awesome!
More posts = more inspiration from one of my favorite blogs👏 And the chest has always been one of my favorite things about your foyer so I vote is no paint, please.
Please don’t paint that magnificent piece!! I love the richness it has. I think it grounds the space. Love the post. It reminded me of when you have a quick coffee catch up with a dear friend ….. the kind where you only have half an hour so you whizz through the fun things from your week that you know would make your friend smile.
What a great idea – love it ! Thanks for sharing such great research – and writing !!! Will be looking forward to this every weekend. Happy Birthdays !
Love you idea for tabbies, but please don’t paint you foyer chest! It’s the same color of wood in your banister and yet a pretty accent color to your floors. Love your blog. Keep ’em coming!
Hi, my name is Debbie, and I am a cabbie girl.
Don’t you hate when auto correct gets you!?! that should say TABBIE girl
Don’t paint the chest. Painting furniture is only for cheap wood. I love it in the entry. I also like your old chandelier! (Don’t go too modern!) You are very beautiful and I know I would love you as a neighbor.!
