14 Summer Throw Pillows for Under $10

The other day, the little one and I busted out the sprinkler and ran barefoot through our grassy backyard. And it was then that I got the itch (not the kind you get from rolling in the grass… although, there was that too). The summer decorating itch.

And then the itch to look around online for inexpensive throw pillows because apparently that’s what a cheapskate… ahem… budget-conscious homebody girl does.

I love the way a few simple throw pillows can freshen up a room, but I’m not always loving the price tag. If I have $50, I’m going to spend it on a bucket of paint that can create some drastic changes rather than a little bitty throw pillow.

But then I found a few sources that are now my favorite places to shop for affordable pillows.

One way that I combat the pillow storage problem is buying only pillow covers and switching them out between the seasons using a few down inserts I already have. And I can just fold up the covers I’m not currently using and store them in a little box in a closet. It’s cheaper and a space-saver. Win / win!

So for summer, I rounded up some of my favorites that are all at or under $10. (And for some you can apply Ebates and Honey for cash back and coupons too.)

Hope these help give your home a little summer perk! I’m currently working on a summer home tour and I can’t wait to have y’all over for a visit. šŸ˜‰

  1. Here’s a great idea I just found out about for an inexpensive pillow. Those 2×3 chindi rugs with the fringe on them you see all over are usually around $5-7. They come in just about every color combo u can think of. Fold in half around a pillow form, sew it together on the outside. There You have a 12x 18 pillow with fringe!! I did a couple of these and they look great.

  2. Hi Lauren, I was wondering where you purchased the stripe pillow cover on your bed. I really like the colors in it. Thanks, Kat

    1. Thanks, Kat! I found it at HomeGoods, so unfortunately, I don’t have a link to it. Love that store but I never know where to find the original source. šŸ™

  3. I love the summer when navy and blue come back into season. The beachy/nautical theme of the summer always makes me want to get out there and enjoy the sunshine. I loved these pillows and Iā€™d love to include them for my outside couch. Thanks for sharing šŸ™‚

  4. Hi Lauren! I’m a new home owner in the CLT area as well and I LOVE following your blog for beautiful/budget friendly finds! If you can still remember, where did you find your “Finest Herbs & Spices” pillow/pillowcase?

    Thanks!

    1. Aw thank you so much! Hi, neighbor! šŸ˜‰ I got that pillow at H&M a couple of months ago but they no longer carry it, unfortunately. It’s my favorite place to get pillow covers though. Most of them are only $5 and they’re super duper cute. šŸ™‚

      1. H&M?! Who knew! I’ll have to keep an eye out. Thank you so much, Lauren! Looking forward to your next post šŸ™‚
