Bless’er Farmhouse Friday – Brittany York
If you missed it, last week I kicked off a fun little series called Bless’er Farmhouse Friday to share some gorgeous inspirations that I’ve discovered on Instagram recently.
I absolutely love the Instagram community because there are so many talented people who share their beautiful home designs that maybe aren’t always seen everywhere else. (Although, now that Pinterest is making it possible to pin from Instagram, that’s all about to change.)
I couldn’t let a Friday slip by without introducing y’all to Brittany York. Her home is so gorgeously polished farmhouse with adorable kid-friendly elements that I had to share it.
Brittany and her husband built their farmhouse from a Southern Living floor plan a few years ago in north Louisiana where they now live with their two energetic boys, chickens, cows, rabbit, and sweet little Pomeranian.
She uses lots and lots of clean white in her home, but she is a rockstar at keeping it interesting with plenty of patterns and colors and textures in all of her accent pieces. It’s what makes me fall in love with white walls all over again because she can change the entire look of a room with just a quick switch up of throw pillows and blankets and seasonal greenery.
And can we talk about this antique chandelier? Wow.
She always shares her kitchen with some little tidbit about their farm life – like sweet blueberries drying on countertops.
Or goodies baking in her vintage oven…
Her master bedroom is the KING of texture! That bedding adds the perfect feminine detail.
And my favorite part of her dining room is that word art on top of those old shutters.
Brittany and her husband have two sweet boys, so she’s always sharing their rambunctious adventures in their playful spaces.
But what I love most about following her is she’s not afraid of sharing the real life. The messes, the mistakes, the moments when growing and learning and thriving happens.
The adventures she shares outside are even more incredible than the indoor ones. I’m not a rough-it-and-go-camping kind of girl, but this, I’d make an exception for. 😉
I hope y’all love Brittany as much as I do. You can check out the rest of her lovely home over on her Instagram feed here or on her blog, Duchess of York. What’s your favorite part? Mine definitely has to be that amazing vintage kitchen range. Oooooh ahhhhhh!
