I love seeing the inside of other people’s houses. I mean really, I’m that person who sees a pretty house and wants to knock on the door to get a glimpse inside (ya know…if my super shy self and trespassing laws didn’t stand in the way of that).
Thank goodness for the internet to satisfy us nosey peeps, right? I’m so excited to be showing off Cristina’s great big kitchen adventure from Remodelando la Casa!
In the beginning, her kitchen looked like this:
When I asked Cristina what her favorite space is that she’d be willing to let me show y’all, she said, “My kitchen is my favorite space in my house, is where our whole family revolves around. Besides that, it’s the space that made me hit the publish button to share my progress with the world, it was there where I got used to power tools and not being afraid to tackle more projects around my house.”
Isn’t it inspiring how one room can empower someone so much?
After 10 years of living in her house, she took the remodel plunge and turned it into THIS!
Then she brightened it up even further with a kitchen island overhaul.
Doesn’t that island color make you want to sing? It does for me anyway. But it’s no secret we have a Duck Egg obsession around our house.
The white china pops so beautifully against that blue/green.
Cristina DIYed this brilliant above fridge organization cabinet to bring plenty of function to an otherwise wasted space.
How cute are those labels?
I would never even know from seeing it in these pictures, but her range hood got a makeover too.
As well as an addition of arch detail on her door-less cabinets.
To make her cabinets even more functional and pretty, Cristina made this plate rack out of dowel rods.
It’s like a breath of fresh air in here, right? I’d be ready to plop down on one of those barstools (which she also made by the way) and have a chat over a steaming cup of coffee at that gorgeous island.
For her breakfast room, Cristina gave these old chairs and table a huge overhaul. You wouldn’t even believe what they looked like before.
So much love went into this room and it just gives me the warm fuzzies all over.
And if I ever visited Cristina, I might steal those stools of hers. So ya know…add larceny to my trespassing charge. 😉
You can see more of Cristina’s DIY brilliance and the rest of her home on her blog.
If you have a fave space you’d like featured for Fave Space Fridays, you can submit it here.
Happy weekend y’all! I’ll be back next week with more bathroom makeover and foyer makeover progress that I can’t wait to share.
