We’re evicting more builder grade features from our house today! (If you even want to call them features…that just sounds too fancy for builder grade.) Are you at all surprised? It’s normal around here nowadays to go all anti-cookie cutter on something. I’ll be back next week with all the goods.
But to kick off the weekend, I’m so excited to show off Kristine from The Painted Hive! Her favorite space in her house is her master bedroom and really, can you blame her? This room has so many beautiful textures that make you want to curl up with a good book.
Kristine lives all the way in Australia. I kind of want to hear her talk just because Aussie accents are the coolest ever…it’s a proven scientific fact, you know.
When she first started brainstorming ideas, this room had very humble beginnings. But she filled it with all kinds of thrifty treasures.
That armoire (below) was a $90 Ebay find that she gave a chalky washed finish.
This gal can makeover furniture like no one I’ve ever seen! My favorite is this one– total showstopper.
Kristine is like me in the greenery department- no need to buy flowers at the market. Just clip some fresh foliage from a shrub to inject life into the room without spending a dime.
Decorating with old books and vintage glass are favorites of hers too. (A girl after my own heart.)
Can you even believe that headboard? She made it using a giant thrift store frame!
Kristine likes to stick to a neutral color scheme and timeless pieces so that her home never really goes out of style. I mean…I’m pretty sure I could hang in her house forever just the way it is.
The rest of her home is just as calming and cozy. And isn’t her photography gorgeous? You do not want to miss her home tour, I promise you.
Thanks so much to Kristine for letting me share her lovely space! I hope you’re as inspired by her as I am. What’s your favorite part? Mine is hands down that vintage cartography map. Ooh la la.
