Whoop whoop! If you’re like me and you hate cluttery little space-sucking knick knacks (paddy whacks…sorry mothering to a toddler kicks in at random moments), this project is super easy, cheap, and if I do say so myself, flippin’ brilliant! I love those moments when I stumble across a life hack that just makes me go, “Ermahgerd! That is genius. Why have I never seen it that way before?”
And as Robert likes to make fun of me, I often pin all of these brilliant life hacks on my Pinterest organization board and never put any of them to use. Well ha! I finally did one. (Now only about 200 to go.) All it took was a quick stop in the gardening department at Walmart and a scrounging around for four screws.
Hanging basket repurposed to fruit and veggie holders:

We chose not to make the baskets even with the bottom of the cabinets and lowered them to be a reachable distance. We’re not exactly Shaquille O’Neal status when it comes to height.
And although this idea is not new to the DIYer’s world, some of the best ideas are copied. Whoever originally came up with this, you’re awesome. For real.
So now we get to have a little more counter space for guess what? More food! My pantry no longer has that random shelf with potatoes and onions rolling around, and the chicken-wire look to the baskets still keeps that rustic feel we love. Plus, the displayed fruit and veggies just brighten up that little wall with some natural color…if our little monkey doesn’t eat all of those bananas in a hurry.
Tell me what ya think! I read every comment I receive.
