3 dining room mood boards with 3 different styles of boho farmhouse, modern, and French vintage for a small-ish budget.
Last week seemed to have a theme on my Instagram feed thanks to our quick dining room spruce and my friend Bre’s Gift of Gathering book release (which sent me on a rabbit hole of sharing tons of easy tablescape ideas from this blog’s past).
One thing always seems to lead to another, and I ended up playing around with some dining room mood boards. They are SO much fun to make, and it’s legitimately a form of entertainment when I’m craving a need to create.
So I thought I’d share a few of them with y’all if dining room sprucing is on your decorating agenda soon. They’re all under $1,700 as I tried to keep them as budget-y as possible.

#1 Neutral Boho Farmhouse Dining Room
Total: $1,552
#2 Modern Navy & Gray Dining Room

Total: $1,571
#3 Bold Green French Vintage Dining Room
Total: $1,728
I love them all, but #3 is definitely my favorite. Apparently, I just have a “thing” for dark, moody dining rooms with a little French vintage flair.
Which would be your pick?
P.S. If you ever want to know how to make mood boards for yourself to help you visualize spaces before you start redecorating them, you can see my past tutorial here.
Number 3 for sure, for me…I LOVE the art in #1 though. 🙂
I believe I would have to agree with you Claudine! But I would a navy wall in that area!!!
Definitely #3. It feels so warm and inviting, and I feel like it would mesh better with the rest of your home…from what I’ve seen on your blog.
Keep the mood boards coming!! I get so much inspiration from these. Would love to see some for kids’ bedrooms (girl and boy) 🙂
Ooh! Since I have two little girls, I would LOVE to do a little boy’s room just for fun! Might have to try that out in the future.
The middle one
I love number 3 also.
For me, it would be number three. But I am sure what you choose will be the best.
These were just for fun. We don’t plan on changing our dining room any time soon. 😉 But I’m with ya on #3 as the fave!
#3 but I must say I LOVE your actual dining room more than the mood boards! I love the calming colors and simple elegance
I bought the rug today!
Thanks for this post! I have been looking for a new rug for probably 6 months. Rug prices have been out of my budget but I never thought to look at Home Depot. I love mood board #3 so I clicked through on the rug. I did not get this exact one but I did get one similar. The 8×10 was less than $100. I also bought the matching runner for the kitchen. Yippee!
I like number 3 for sure!!
I like #3, but not sure I could go totally green – would probably start out with one wall as a feature wall with the prints and the rest of the room in a more neutral color. So I guess it would be somewhat moody! Thanks for sharing the different looks – fun to see the different styles.
#3, but with #1’s paint color. Not a fan of the dark green.
I WOULD CHOOSE # 3 FOR SURE ! THEY ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL BUT#3 IS WARM AND CHARMING! LOVE ALL THE MOOD BOARDS
Ooo-la-la! French vintage #3
Three for sure! I love green and antique mirrors and botanical prints!
They are all beautiful but no.3 definitely speaks to me!
I vote for #3 as well! I love green; and I love rooms that have that intimate, moody feel.
I know that in a previous post you gave the instructions on how to do a mood board. Could you please share a link to that post? I inadvertently deleted it.
No worries. I can most certainly share a link. Just know that you can always search the blog for past posts. 🙂

Thanks for the link and tutorial! Can you do this on an iPad?
Number 2! Definitely matches the classic elegance of your home. You can always add a gray or deep moody wall too.
