You know that saying… if you want a job done the quick and easy way, ask a lazy person how to do it?
Confession time: I’m that lazy person. Productivity is my middle name about a lot of things, but making beds, vacuuming floors, and maintaining the pool are not in that category AT ALL.
UPDATE: See the final pool reveal here!
Buuuuut since we got a new pool liner a few weeks ago and our annual July 4th cookout is coming up next week, the pool maintenance thing just got bumped up on the priority list.
Lucky for us and lucky for one of y’all too though, Hayward just launched the AquaVac6 (and we’re hosting a giveaway for one here, if you have a pool needing lots of love too).
Robert and I named our AquaVac6 R2-D2 because when he’s driving around our pool doing our cleaning for us, he looks exactly like our favorite little StarWars droid (#nerdalert …we know).
We do voices for him. His favorite food is water bugs. He told us so himself.
He’s WiFi enabled, so we can control the cleaning process using a dedicated app on our smartphones, and he has a SpotClean remote steering feature so that we can run it for quick touch-ups right before guests arrive for a pool party.
The canister is filter-less and bag-less, so we’re able to dump all of the debris he collects in about 5 seconds without having to touch any of the ickiness.
No exaggeration, we were totally entranced the whole time watching him take his maiden voyage in our pool as he climbed walls and stairs to give them a thorough scrub.
Even if the canister fills up with debris, it maintains constant, maximum suction power, so we don’t have to babysit him while he does his job. Even if we go on vacation, we can leave him in the pool and set him to clean every 48 hours while we’re gone.
This little guy already is saving us so much time, money in maintenance fees, and will extend the life of our pool liner.
Anything with a remote control gets Robert’s approval. RC cars as a kid totally prepared him for this. 😉
Hop over to the Hayward page to enter the giveaway for your own AquaVac6 or pass it along for any friends to enter who could use it in their pool.

Hey Lauren, I was just wondering if you could share what the price is for this, I’m trying to find it online but haven’t had any luck.
Thanks, Lauren! This is a must for my In-Law’s pool so i entered the giveaway. R2D2 made me laugh! We have a bird in the pear tree in our front yard that we call R2D2 because it sounds just like him when it chirps.
Your entire backyard is amazing! Haha, R2D2 is perfect! My robot vacuum is Baby Shark. I guess great nerd minds think alike. 🙂 Have a great 4th!
Domo Arigato from our Mr. Roboto. he was expensive but living in AZ a pool and a robot is a must have. We don’t know how we lived without him. Now my husband wants a solar skimmer.
So cool! It’s like a pool Roomba! And the fact that it is controlled by an app is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing, Lauren!
Oh my gosh, I NEED this!! Heading over to enter now… Our poor little cleaner has been struggling for some time now.
That think climbing up the side of the pool is so cool! I love how high tech pool vacuums are getting!
We just moved in to our house with our very first inground 6 months ago. It was a nightmare getting it back from the frog pond we started with but it’s fabulous now. We have an ant problem with our pool, and I think this robot vacuum would do the trick definitely.
I don’t have a pool but I’ve forwarded this post to my friends who do! This would be so amazing!
Hugs, Jamie
Was the giveaway for only a day or two? On Hayward’s site, I can’t find where to enter.
So handy!!! And I love the little storage unit it has!
