Happy July 4th, y’all! Okay, I’m 2 days early, but you guys are going to thank me for being an early bird on this one. I do not drink alcohol very often, and when I do it’s usually only one and on a special occassion, so that drink better be darn good when I get one! And, for me, sangria never fails to disappoint. It has everything! And since I had two pints of gorgeous local blueberries and strawberries, I couldn’t resist the urge to make this for our July 4th cookout.

Here’s what you’ll need:
1 cup blueberries
1 cup strawberries, sliced or whole is up to you
2 sliced apples (or cut out with a star cookie cutter if you want to be ridiculously cute)
1 bottle Pinot Grigio (or any other semi-dry white wine if you have a preference)
1/2 cup triple sec
1/2 cup light rum (I used one with a strawberry flavor)
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 cups Sprite or Sierra Mist
1/2 cup sugar
Directions:
Place all fruit into pitcher. Mix in rest of ingredients and stir until sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate overnight. Garnish with star apple cut outs and enjoy. 🙂
Cheers!
