Window Picture Frame and Free Botanical Printables
Can I just give away free stuff to y’all in every post I write from now on? Every time I share one of my DIY/crafting/decor-dreaming/oopsie-flub-ups on this blog, I do a little happy dance because I’m still amazed that people other than my mom read about our adventures.
You guys stopping in and sharing your thoughts and ideas and sweet comments with me is what gives me the motivation to keep the momentum going around here.
So to thank you, I’m sharing a set of free botanical printables at the end of this post.

But right now, for a quick Trash to Treasure Transformation flash-back, I’m recapping about one of my favorite yet super simple wall decor projects.
It all started with these abandoned windows left in my in-laws’ old barn behind their house.

I made off with the window that wasn’t broken this go-round. Don’t you wish you had a magical barn that supplied incredible reclaimed goodies? I’d go diving through my in-laws’ barn more often if I wasn’t terrified of the critters living in there. Ack!

I took the window home and gave it a lead paint test to make sure we didn’t have that not-so-fun stuff hanging around on the frame, then vacuumed it with a wand attachment, sprayed with all-purpose cleaner and let dry, and sealed it with a coat of matte Rustoleum spray polyurethane.
I hung it up behind our tub in our master bathroom with a Hangman hanger. I use those for everything that I want to make super duper secure.

Then, I had this thrifted Audubon Birds of America book lying around that was completely falling apart. I knew it would one day make beautiful art.

So I just taped a few of the pages to the window panes and that was it!

If you choose to hang yours up in a bathroom like I did, you should also seal the pages with Scotch laminating sheets to prevent moisture.

I used more of the sheets from my Audubon book to make book page botanical art from Walmart poster frames in our foyer too. It is absolutely perfect for spring and summer!

You can find similar Audubon books on Amazon to repurpose into wall art if you want hundreds to choose from.

Hi Lauren,
Love your site! Can these be printed in the 16 x 20 size – to use in your gallery wall idea?
Thanks!
Hi Cathy! Yes, I’ve formatted them to be 16×20 size or 8×10, whichever you prefer.
Hi Lauren! I was wondering how large you can print these pictures? Thank you for providing them! I have always loved Audubon prints.
Hi Elaine! They are high resolution, so you should be able to print them at a pretty large poster-size, larger than how I printed them for sure. ๐
Are you still sending link for printables? Love them! Keep checking my email….
Hi Toni! You should have received a confirmation email immediately. If you didn’t, can you shoot me a message through my email lauren@blesserhouse.com ? I’ll see that you get it. ๐
Can you please send me the link for the download printables. I downloaded before and sent them to office max to print but they came out blurry, I want to try and download again.
