32 of the Best Kid Friendly Coffee Tables

A round-up of the best kid-friendly coffee tables with rounded corners, non-breakable materials, easy clean-up from spills, and no tipping.

Look out, world! We have a toddler on the move and she’s practically a walking bumper car 24/7.

I could have taken a picture of her for proof, but the girl doesn’t stand still for longer than a nano-second, so that brings me to this…

Kid-friendly coffee table - rounded corners, no tipping, and toy storage!

A bunch of y’all asked me recently about our new coffee table on Instagram, which I never really mentioned swapping out from our old one. The whole reason for the replacement: bumped noggins.

(Is “noggin” a Southern word? I dunno, but if you don’t speak Southern, you get the jist… cracked craniums… bopped domes… all of the smacked noodles that come with raising a toddler with a case of the weeble wobbles.)

I wasn’t about to fight the battle of covering our existing coffee table’s sharp corners and edges with baby-proofing bumpers, but I wanted to prevent unnecessary accidents too, so after a tear-filled whack to the face, we snagged this woven trunk coffee table instead.

No accidents! And bonus: storage for all of the toddler toys. Woot! And it’ll be sturdy enough to last for years through all of our kiddos’ wear and tear.

If you have a weeble wobble in your house, I rounded up a bunch of kid-friendly coffee tables in hopes that it helps any of you with the same battle (and maybe spares some boo-boos in the process).

The Criteria:

  • Must have round edges/corners
  • No glass or easily breakable materials
  • No easy tipping
  • And dark fabrics for easier stain hiding & clean-up

  1. I just love this collection, such a great thing to do to avoid the harm of our kids. And I don’t have to give up anything since these tables are looking really good. 🙂

  2. Having sutured many toddler chins and scalps after they recieved bonks I can say your post is right on the money. Once my daughter was born I immediately changed out our square wooden coffee table for an oval one. Now we have grandchildren and this information is still valuable.
