Video Colonial House Tour 2023

Take a video tour inside our colonial house built in 1960 filled with thrifted furniture, DIY projects, and modern traditional room makeovers.

How is it even possible that we’re quickly approaching 6 YEARS of living in this house?! We’ve done so much and yet I feel like we still have so many big adventures ahead here.

Throughout this entire adventure of living in our home, you all stopping by to give us your input and encouragement through messages, comments, emails… you give us the motivation to keep going. I am SO thankful for this Bless’er House community we all have built here over the years!

It feels almost like yesterday that Robert and I got married. A year later, we were very young parents to a newborn, totally broke, and we moved into my parents’ spare bedroom to save up for our first house.

And here we are now almost 12 years married, 2 houses later, 2 kids later, a whole lot of hard lessons under our belt, and all of YOU who have been such a huge part of that story. This community feels like a part of our family.

This blog started as a creative outlet I so desperately needed as I painted thrift store furniture in my garage during toddler nap times, and it has become a blessing beyond anything I could have ever fathomed.

I think that’s just proof that a house is so much more than the pretty things you put in it. A home is your soft place to land where you can be anything, do anything, create anything, feel anything… I hope this tiny corner of the internet is like that for you.

  1. What an amazing home you have created Lauren! I love its light, its space and its flow; its calming, gentle tones and sophisticated feel. It truly is a beautiful home in which to relax and entertain but above all, it is a family home and I wish you all great happiness, good health and much fortune within its walls. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of accompanying you through it rooms. Marion, UK

  2. Your home tour was amazing! Exactly what I needed today. (Below freezing and strong winds, upstate NY) My house is much smaller and my kids are grown and on their own, but you gave me so many incredible ideas- which can be done on a small budget, too. And that music! Absolutely perfect! Truly set the mood and let me just picture my own rooms done over in your style! Thank you so much.

    1. Sue, I am so happy to hear you enjoyed it. I know we all have homes that look different. But I am glad you are able to take the ideas of the posts and create them in your own way.

  3. Your house is absolutely beautiful! Being inspired by your modern traditional style, I incorporated it into my home as well and just love it. I’m constantly in awe of your gorgeous yet budget friendly projects. Keep up the good work and thanks for allowing us to be a part of your journey.
