“Do what scares you.” That’s definitely our motto for the master bedroom refresh that currently has us pouring over all of the paint color options.
But for some reason, I keep coming back to the idea of painting the entire room all black. (The Lauren from 5 years ago who painted everything beige or white wouldn’t even recognize me now.)
And then it dawned on me… black is PERFECT for a bedroom! Especially if you have insomnia or get reverse circadian rhythms like I do sometimes. (Any other night owls out there who get their best thinking done after everybody else is asleep?)

Mix in the black with some rich leather, a punch of greenery, and balance it out with some white and a room feels instantly high-end.
Are you convinced yet? I think painting our interior doors black was just our gateway to this because now I can’t get enough!
I don’t think I’ll be painting any other rooms black, honestly, but I can already tell our bedroom will feel so much more luxurious with just the black paint color change alone.
It’s a color that will never go out of style, that’s for sure.

I think I want to go dark too! Right now my powder room is the same gray as the majority of the rest of my house and it looks so ho hum. I capital L.O.V.E this wall paper (https://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shop/whimsical-floral-removable-wallpaper?category=wall-art&color=009&type=REGULAR) and am almost feeling brave enough to try it! I’m thinking one accent wall, but, what to paint the other 3 walls? Hmm…. white, black, blue?
