Modern Minimalist Botanical Printable Set

A free high resolution printable set of black and white modern minimalist botanical art and the best aged brass spray paint for frames.

Story time: Back when we moved into this house two-ish years ago, I didn’t have a CLUE how to decorate it. Yeah, okay, I had Pinterest boards filled up with all kinds of decorating styles and a few light bulb moments here and there.

But mostly I just hauled all of our farmhouse decor in from our last place and hoped everything would work itself out.

Little by little, I figured out the farmhouse vibe felt really out of place in this traditional colonial house, but I couldn’t bare to part with this one very farmhouse style corner with its $35 Craigslist wagon bench and vintage botanical prints.

It served us well, and I truly loved this spot right beside our back door in our living room. But I’m here to tell you it’s okay to change. It’s okay to find a new identity. We evolve throughout our lives; our homes should be able to do that too.

Then, a few days ago, I found some public domain botanical sketches that would look beautiful in a more modern, minimalist kind of style. So I did my usual Photoshop thing to turn them into high resolution printable files.

Then, Robert said, “Why don’t you paint the frames with some of the leftover aged brass spray paint from the breakfast nook chandelier makeover?”

This man… he gets me.

So for less than $20, I changed the look of this wall decor for something not quite so rustic, and I. am. here for it!!!

To print them in the 16×20 sizes, I send my images to Staples to have them printed on color engineer prints for about $3 each. (But if you want to keep it easy, just printing 8×10 size right from your own printer works too.)

Print Directions:

• Download the botanical prints from the Bless’er House Printable Library (password in your email).
• Go to Staples.com
• Click “services & solutions” -> “printing services” -> “blueprints” -> “18”x24″ -> “design now” -> “engineering prints in color”
• Click “add files” and upload the botanical print images
• Click “orientation” -> portrait
• Click “add to cart” -> “proceed to checkout”
• In the notes section on your order, write “do not scale to fit” to keep the image at 16″x20″ because sometimes Staples will do it even when you don’t specify.

I’ve had several people tell me that their local Staples won’t print these on engineering prints for some reason, but I’ve never had an issue, so it varies among locations, and I have no idea why. These black and whites shouldn’t be as big of an issue as my past color sets have been.

Office Depot and OvernightPrints.com sometimes work too. You can also check with other locally-owned print shops though.

You can choose to print them directly from your computer as 8x10s to put in 8×10 frames, or if you want large frames, you can mat the 8x10s.

I used these frames spray painted with Rustoleum Modern Farmhouse Metallic Gold.

I think it’s safe to say that this very rustic bench has had its run. So I’m currently on the hunt at thrift stores and on Craigslist/OfferUp/Facebook Marketplace for a more fitting replacement.

What kind of bench would you put here?
