The Best Better Homes and Gardens Patio Furniture + DIY Pool Cabana Setup
All of the top rated budget-friendly Better Homes and Gardens patio furniture from Walmart and our refreshed DIY pool cabana layout.
This post is sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart.
Once upon a time, 5 years ago to be exact, Robert won a trip at his old workplace to take both of us to South Beach Miami and stay at the Delano Hotel.
It was opulent, luxurious, absolutely amazing, and way beyond outside our normal way of life. After that trip, I always pictured the hotel’s VIP poolside cabanas as my idea of “perfection”. And just a week later, we moved into this house where we were so inspired to recreate that vacation right in our backyard…
The DIY Backyard Transformation and Our Favorite Better Homes & Gardens Patio Furniture
Except our backyard pool 5 years ago actually looked like this…
It needed TONS of love, but now that we’ve put in the years of hard labor, our backyard is transformed.
And now we have a Delano Hotel style DIY pool cabana of our own… except without the butlers, unless you count our kids as the wait staff, in which case, unless you enjoy your butlers back-talking and peeing on things, I’d give this joint 1 star service. 😉
Now that almost all of the DIY improvement projects are wrapped up out here, we took this week to update our outdoor seating with some of my favorite Better Homes & Gardens patio furniture from Walmart.
DIY Pool Cabana Walmart Patio Furniture Refresh
To make the DIY pool cabana more of a lounge spot, I found this sectional dining set from the Better Homes & Gardens patio furniture line that works perfectly for multipurpose use.
If you have a patio space that you want to utilize for comfortable conversation and outdoor dining, it’s a winner! It comes with covers so you can keep everything protected before rain storms or when that gross yellow pollen season hits.
The sectional set has stools that slide underneath the dining table to save space and work perfectly for sopping wet swimsuit clad kids especially to plop on.
The wicker is made of a resin that stands up well to the elements (we have a similar Better Homes & Gardens patio furniture set on our back porch that has held up perfectly over time).
Outdoor Accent Furniture
I found this teak wood bar cart secondhand on Facebook Marketplace the other day! It’s so perfect for keeping pool snacks and beverages in easy reach.
But I love these other Walmart patio furniture accent pieces too.
I filled our bar cart with this shatterproof outdoor glassware, bar set, and bowl for cocktail fruit.
Favorite Better Homes & Gardens Outdoor Decor
These tabletop tiki torches majorly come in handy once the mosquitos emerge in the summer.
And this small scalloped planter is one of my favorites.
I like to keep outdoor pillows neutral since they’re easiest to mix up over time. These are some of my favorite designer look-alike outdoor pillows.
Top Better Homes & Gardens Outdoor Dining Furniture Picks
Outdoor Dining Table
Since our old outdoor wooden table was dying a slow death out here in the elements, we decided to replace it with this metal outdoor dining table instead that looks like wood.
Our metal patio chairs have held up perfectly out here for two years, so we feel more confident that this table will be durable in the weather too.
Top Walmart Planter Picks
I added these Walmart planter sets on the tables for a little life, and they are adorable!
These look like something straight out of Anthropologie. These are a few other cute Walmart planters that look like designer knockoffs.
Better Homes & Gardens Outdoor Dinnerware
To be more mindful of sustainable, reusable dinnerware outside instead of using disposable plates, I use these marble look melamine dishes.
Better Homes and Gardens Outdoor Lounge Furniture
We are still absolutely loving this conversation set on our back porch. It comes with covers too, so we can protect it from pollen in the next few weeks.
We totally forgot to cover it during the winter months though, and even despite being exposed to the elements, it has still held up beautifully. The glider chairs rock so smoothly and make sitting on our porch so relaxing.
Our Pool Before and After
I still can’t get over how far this pool has come in 5 years. It’s been so much hard work, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Hosting backyard pool parties and making memories with friends and family is one of our favorite things in the world, so we cannot WAIT for all of the fun we’ll have out here in the coming months!
It’s taken 5 years, a lot of sweat equity, total exhaustion, and quite a chunk of investment to make this pool a reality, but it’s resulted in an investment in quality time with loved ones that is hard to beat.

Are you doing any backyard projects soon? Or basking in the weather of “fake spring” right now?
I know we’re in for another cold snap soon, but I’m just going to be over here soaking up the warm sun in the short time while it lasts until the “real deal” season. 😉
