A budget shopping guide of designer cane furniture and their less expensive lookalikes for boho, traditional, modern, and coastal styles.
This post needs a rendition of “All Cane in the Shop Brain”. When it comes to parody writing, that’s as close as I get to “Insane in the Membrane” FYI… 90s throwback, baby.
Now that we’re running full speed ahead with the guest bedroom makeover, I’ve had one main item on my thrift store search list: a cane headboard.
Mostly because caning will still let in light from our off-centered window when we position the bed in front of it.
I’m not sure if you’re noticed this but cane furniture is having a HUGE moment right now on the home design scene. It works for boho, traditional, coastal, farmhouse, modern… it’s so versatile for so many styles that can be trendy but still stand up for decades as a classic.
In my caned furniture browsing, I found all kinds of less pricey options as alternatives to the expensive designer options. So I thought it’d be fun to share a little save versus splurge. I hope it helps!

Splurge
Save
I’ve seen where people install cane from a roll into the doors on ikea furniture for the ultimate budget cane furniture!
That is a perfect added touch to obtain the look on a budget. 🙂
I love the save pieces way more than the splurge! They got my vote!

Hmm, that Rashida Secretary is very interesting; nice fold down writing area and just begs for decorating on top/above; good price also. Great finds!.
Your work seems to be informative. Thanks!
