8 Fall Decor Fire Pit Ideas for a Cozy Backyard Party
8 cozy fire pit ideas for outdoor fall decor and entertaining tips using budget-friendly finds for a backyard campfire party.
I don’t know how we got so lucky with our gorgeous almost fall-ish weather this week, so we went all out with some fall decorating fire pit ideas to make our outdoor space cozy for a backyard party!
Do you recognize the movie we chose?

I shared all about how to set up a backyard movie theater earlier that we created around our DIY fire pit.

8 Fall Decor Fire Pit Ideas for a Cozy Backyard Party

1. Repurpose Large Planters Into Tables
We’ve had these recycled whisky barrels since building this fire pit last year, but these barrel planters would work too for creating a rustic vibe.

2. Add Warm Blankets
For warming up by the fire on chilly nights, toss a few cozy blankets on outdoor chairs for guests at a backyard campfire party.

3. Utilize Knit Pillows for Extra Comfort
Adirondack chairs are the perfect fire pit chairs in our opinion, but having that extra back support with cozy pillows makes the experience much more comfortable.
I love mixing cable knit textures with plaid prints for fall.

4. Set Up a S’mores Spread
We always have a tray of graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolates with roasting sticks to enjoy s’mores by the fire. I love this hammered metal serving tray.

5. Serve Cider in Copper Mugs
Somehow cider tastes better in pretty copper mugs. Enjoy with apple slices and cinnamon sticks or spike with a shot of cinnamon whiskey for the grown-ups.

6. Set Out Garden Mums
I’m determined to keep these alive for at least a month this year because I’m the worst at remembering to water them. But garden mums make every outdoor space feel extra festive for fall.

7. Mix Up Planter Pots
Incorporate terra cotta, earth tones, and neutrals to add interest with planters. Then repot them again with annual spring/summer flowers next year.

8. Add Some Candlelight
When it’s dark outside while we’re enjoying our backyard movie, it’s nice to have these black lanterns sprinkled around with candles for some ambience.

This is the first fall we’ve had this fire pit finished, and we are SO thankful for it!

With the outdoor movie theater, bocce ball court, and the back porch set up, we’re ready for all of the backyard parties now.

We spent the weekend camped out right here watching Hook and Harry Potter, and it felt like being a kid again.
