The best things in life are free, but a lot of times, the same goes for DIY projects.
Earlier this summer, Robert’s parents gave us a huge pile of very old reclaimed wood that we dug out of their barn. I have no idea how long it had been there, but it’s safe to say every piece was older than I am.
A big piece of that same old wood got the DIY treatment for our kitchen makeover.
That farmers’ market sign was FREE! Can you believe it?! All because I was able to use paint I already had since white and black paint are pretty common craft supply staples anyway.
I ended up making this reclaimed welcome sign for our front door wreath too.
And our living room gallery wall got a special date sign added to it with Olivia’s birthday. (I swear, the gallery wall is done now. Last time I say that, promise.)
I’m sharing the full tutorial for how to easily make farmhouse signs over on Remodelaholic! If you have paint, some wood, and a computer printer, the wall decor in your future will be endless. 🙂

Lauren,
I knew we were kindred spirits!! Olivia and I share a birthday!!! Although I was born just a few years earlier!!
Yay! I gotta say, it’s one of the best days to be born on. 😉 Not biased at all.
My mom has the same birthday! Too cute!
It’s a good day to be born. She must be awesome. 😉
Thank you so much for the great tutorial! The Farmers Market sign was the perfect solution to my kitchen. It was my first attempt in making a sign, but it turned out amazingly and I love it!!!!
Yay!!! I’m SO glad to hear that, Brandi!
